The Tao is all about enjoying the journey, listening to intuition and finding your “Way”. Tile Mold Techniques with Gary Carlos

June 5-9 (5 days) Level: Beginner to Advanced

In this workshop, students will explore a variety of techniques for making handmade tiles from plaster molds. Demonstrations will include cavity molds, cuenca or raised line tiles, creating geometric patterns, and how to make the perfect set of mold boards. There will be discussions about installation, using mixed media, and working on community-based projects.

Glass Beadmaking with Jane Ayers

June 12-14 (3 days) Level: Beginner

In this workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of glass beadmaking. Working at a torch, we will wind colorful molten glass around a steel mandrel to create a bead. Shapes, textures, surface decorations and more will be explored as well as safety issues and studio set-up. Basic bead stringing techniques will be explained, and if time permits, you will be able to create jewelry from your new creations... more information
