Sales Position in the Store & Gallery
Peters Valley Craft Center Inc. is seeking a seasonal part-time assistant for the Store and Gallery, 16 to 24 hours per week including Saturdays with additional hours as needed. Applicant should possess: strong computer skills, an art background and be knowledgeable in fine crafts, strong customer service skills, painting, packing and display skills and enjoy working with people.
Responsibilities include: entering and pricing new inventory, creating eye catching displays/signage for merchandise, gallery set up (painting, unpacking/packing artwork, setting up for gallery openings), working with artists, helping to order inventory from artists, opening and closing the store, light cleaning (vacuuming, dusting, etc.), customer service (including but not limited to): helping the customer choose an appropriate gift, "up-selling", gift wrapping, sales of merchandise, clerical work includes filing, answering the phone, giving directions and informing visitors about Peters Valley and the local attractions.
